A Winning Season, but Playoffs Denied
Regular Season
In a severely depleted season, the Southern Conference were the only set of teams to complete a whole season of Junior Football across England.
With competitive losses against the London Warriors, and a winning clean sweep of the London Blitz, the Exiles were only denied a play-off place by a League Ruling. The League determined that the winner of two hastily-arranged fixtures between the same two teams should determine who represented the North. So, despite having the second-best record in England, the Exiles were denied entrance to the post-season.
Head Coach Julius Hobbs remained positive and upbeat, remarking that “…some great football was played this year. I am very proud of all the Exiles. The win in the last game of the season [versus the Marlow Wolves] ensured that we finished with a winning record and leaves us well-placed for next season”.
