THE KENT EXILES HALL OF FAME

On Sunday 8th August 2004, the Exiles organisation paid tribute to the first three Exiles Hall of Fame Inductees.  The Exiles were invited to the final game of the season for formal induction.  This included the pre-game coin toss, summary of contribution to the team, trophy presentation and team photo.

The Hall of Fame members were voted for by those Committee members who helped found the club.

Player/Coaching biographies are given below, along with a selection of pictures from the days events, and from yesteryear!  Click on any pictures to open a larger version in a new window.

2004
John was one of the founder members of the Exiles along with Alan Hands and Graham Gosling, and was previously a standout linebacker with the Tonbridge Tigers. Undoubtedly one of the best the club has ever seen, John is currently the only person to have had his shirt number retired by the club.
John will be mainly remembered for his hard hitting and speed on the pitch, as well as his ‘anything for the club’ attitude, which saw him take many a sabbatical at QB.
John was unanimously voted in as the first inductee to the Exiles hall of fame.

#40
Linebacker

Most fumble recoveries, season - 7.  Most sacks, career - 11.5.  Most fumble recoveries, career - 9.
Tackles - 160 unassitsted, 50 assists.  Sacks - 11.5 for 93 yards.  Interceptions - 2 for 0 yards.  Fumbles forced - 3.  Fumbles recovered - 9 for 15 yards.  Broken Plays - 4.  Passes defended - 3.  KO Returns - 1 for 2 yards.
Defensive MVP 1995.  #1 Tackler 1995.  #1 Sacks 1995.  #1 Tackler 1996.
2004
Pete Fisher is a different man on the pitch than off the pitch!  His speed and tenacity made him a whirling dervish from his LB position, and he was always around the tackle, or making a big play.
Pete’s career was cut short by a series of injuries, but he still averaged over 40 tackles a season, and led the club 1n 1995 and 1996. We will always remember his broken collarbone, which he didn’t notice until a couple of plays after he had done it, and recording 2 more tackles!

#82
Tight End, Quarterback, Head Coach
1994-1998, 2000-2002
2-22-1
Passing - 4 of 18 for 31 yards.  Receiving - 3 for 28 yards.  Tackles - 4 unassisted, 1 assist.  Fumbles recovered - 1 for 6 yards.  Passes defended - 1.
Coaches Award 1997.
2004
Nick was never the most talented player, but he will go down in history as one of the clubs finest members.
Despite never being a starter, Nick never missed training and did what he could to help the club, whilst learning the game from a player’s perspective.
Nick moved into coaching quickly and efficiently, immediately earning respect for his knowledge of the game.  He was the Offensive co-ordinator for the Exiles first winning season, when his QB was rated #1 in the country, and 3 wide receivers made the top 10.
Nick left the club in 1999 to finish a masters degree, but came back in 2000 when the club was at it’s lowest to lead the revival, his coaching record does not do him justice as these were the Exiles rebuilding years, and as you can see from our 2003-04 results a good foundation was laid.
Nick was also a fine holder for PAT and FG attempts!
