EP Sports was established in 2007 by Joe Black. His experience of American Football comes from playing for some of Europe's top teams, including the Coventry Cassidy Jets and the Eidsvoll 1814's, as well as for the GB Lions national team. Joe also has experience as a coach, having been head coach of the BUAFL team Liverpool Fury which he founded in 2006, and the Merseyside Nighthawks where he has been coaching for the last 3 years. Through his experience in American Football, Joe recognised the need for high quality equipment and sportswear to optimise athletes' performance and gained a knowledge of which manufacturers can deliver these products. Great American SportsSince its creation in 1976, Great American Sports has become renowned for the wide range of product choice, including many products simply not available elsewhere in the UK, and its legandary customer service as it remains the only dedicated American Football supporter product business in Great Britain. The business which was for many years, until the summer of 2008, based in the Fiveways Shopping centre has now relocated to Exmouth in Devon following the decision of the landlords of the Birmingham site to redevelopment it for other purposes and the retirement from active service of the original business founders, Frank and Sue Leadon.
